Alternative Boston Wedding Venue

Did you know that you can hold your wedding at the Bow Market in Sommerville, MA? Yes, you can! Located just 15 minutes outside of Boston, the Bow Market was a fun alternative venue for a Boston Wedding. In September 2020, I photographed the inaugural wedding held at the Bow Market. It was a really great experience for vendors, celebrants, and guests alike.

Naomi and Zach held their wedding at the Bow Street Market amid the chaos caused by the 2020 pandemic. With several family members who are older and immuno-compromised, the couple wanted to find a location where they could celebrate their nuptials safely. The Bow Market served as the perfect solution for them.

Their wedding was held on a Monday evening when all the shops in the market are usually closed. This allowed Naomi and Zach the option of using the whole courtyard for their wedding reception with no concern of foot traffic interrupting their event. They were also able to make use of the string lights the venue already had for their ambiance. All they had to do was add some personal touches to make the platform unique to them. 

The second-floor veranda gave me a beautiful vantage point for the whole wedding. I was able to make some pretty incredible images of the entire night. 

Cons 

• Parking

As with all spaces in and around Boston - parking for the Bow Market was a challenge. If you’re planning to have your wedding at this venue, busing your guests in from one central location (like your hotel or church) would make your life so much easier. And that of your guests too!

The Bow Market is a great alternative wedding venue in the Boston Area.
