It was a pleasure to photograph Lily and Matt’s wedding at the Segregansett Country Club in Taunton, MA. I’d never been to this venue before and it was a pleasant surprise to find it just beyond the borders of Seekonk. The venue was small, yet inviting and the staff were eminently helpful in keeping the day going. Matt and Lily didn’t have much to worry about which made for tons of carefree laughter from both of them.

Matt and the boys got ready at the Taunton-Foxboro Holiday Inn, which was just fifteen minutes away from the club. For participants in a fairly momentous occasion, these guys were fairly chill. They were dressed and ready in under 30 minutes. I will admit, the boys were a little weirded out that I was there to photograph them getting ready, but I’m hoping they’ll always be able to revisit the thrill of this day years from now when they are getting ready for their own weddings.

In the incredibly spacious locker room of the club, the energy of the ladies was markedly different. There was laughing, and crying and laughing again. When I joined them, they were ready to get going on all the things. Their make-up was done and they were putting the finishing touches on their hairstyles. All that remained was getting dressed and drinking a toast to Lily’s happiness.

The couples’ wedding ceremony took place on the greens by the club, which combined with the gorgeous blue sky they were blessed with, made for some incredibly gorgeous pictures.

After the ceremony, the club provided Matt, Lily and I with a cart that drove us around the golf course so we could make some formal portraits alone. I never take for granted that this will be an option for my couples on their wedding day, but Segregansett made sure they had a chance to be alone and to decompress! It was fun as always and I had to rein myself in so we could get back to wedding party and ensure their reception got started!

Entertainment was provided by Joey G Entertainment and let me tell you, this DJ and his crew kept the party JUMPING. Definitely reach out to this group if you’re in need of a DJ fluent in hip-hop AND latin music. They will not disappoint!
