Grand View Wedding Mendon

Summer Wedding in Mendon MA

My first impression of Kathiana and Bakhtiyar was the merriment of two worlds colliding. They were referred to me by another fun couple whose engagement pictures I photographed - check out their session here! Representing Haiti and Azerbaijan, these two love birds spent the night trying to outdo the other in enthusiastic dancing and merriment.

The couple started their day at the Sonesta Select Boston Hotel in Milford, MA - a 25-minute drive from their wedding venue. As their photographer, I appreciated the option afforded to the bride to get ready in a large and spacious conference room on the main floor. This room was large enough to hold the bride, the bride's mother, seven bridesmaids, three makeup artists (two with a makeup chair each), a hairstylist (also with her own chair), a videographer, and the best wedding photographer EVER (me!). It was awesome!

Their wedding was held at Grand View - an elegant waterfront location. Located on a private corner of Lake Nipmuc in Mendon, MA, this venue is at the cross-section of many little Massachusetts towns that I drive by and through regularly. 10 minutes from Millville, 6 minutes from Uxbridge, and 12 minutes from Blackstone - I'm kinda surprised that I can't see it from Rt. 146 (which is just 17 minutes away, in case you were wondering). Katiana's and Bakhtiyar's wedding was the first wedding I shot at this venue.

With its elegant white and cream interior, this venue allows all your wedding colors to pop! If your wedding colors are in the jewel tone family (Navy, Emerald, Ruby), your wedding pictures will be simply spectacular.

One of the unique benefits of this venue is the large bridal suite with an on-suite bathroom for the bride to use. It's always nice to have ample space where everyone can put the final touches of their looks together right before the ceremony. This room also had a monitor that showed the activity happening out in the main hall and in the lobby area. So as guests start to arrive, the couple can sit back and watch the festivities start unfolding in privacy. I loved it because it made arranging for the first look easy. I could tell where Bakhtiyar was at all times!

Another selling point of this venue for me is the abundance of backdrops/locations for photography. From the patio overlooking the lake to its well-tended gardens, you will not be at a loss for great photography options. For example, for Kat and Bakti's wedding, I used the Columned Amphitheatre and gardens. The amphitheater was a great backdrop for their first look. Then, for their formal portraits, I photographed them in the stone-cropping alongside the gardens.

There was dancing, singing, jumping, and laughing ALL NIGHT LONG at this spectacular wedding event. I am certainly looking forward to working at this venue again.
