Fall Engagement Session at Roger Williams Park
If you're ever at a loss for where to go for your engagement session, consider the grand landscape of Roger Williams Park in Providence, RI. Located on just about 425 acres of land, Roger Williams Park is an excellent location for making images because of it's incredibly varied sections.
I photographed Alyssa and Delly's engagement session last November as of this writing (11/2019), and we had a fantastic time even though it was FREEZING! Alyssa and Delly hired me through an agency, so we were meeting each other for the first time at their engagement session. Imagine our surprise when in getting to know one another, Alyssa and I found out we're both from the town of Smithfield! It was an amusing discovery because we could have just gone over to Deerfield Park - the town park that abuts her parents' property. Given how much I love RWP, there was nothing to grouse about for me.
My favorite part of the park when photographing couples has to be the Japanese gardens. Located across the street from the Swan House and right behind the carousel, the Japanese gardens are filled with stonework, koi ponds, and rustic bridges that join little landmasses. In the spring, it's brimming with blooming cherry trees and gorgeous red elms. In the fall, the fallen leaves make a golden carpet that when set against the garnet tree leaves, serves as a magnificent backdrop on a sunny day.
If you’re planning to get married at the park, or will just be photographing your engagement session there, then I’m your photographer!
