3 Trends I'd love to see couples take advantage of in the new year

Thanks to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the wedding industry, weddings look and feel very different. Yet, amid the dumpster fire of the year, there are some incredible trends emerged that I hope my future couples take advantage of.

Here are three of them:

  1. Elaborate Dinners

  2. Outdoor weddings

  3. Bottled or Canned Drinks

Elaborate Dinners

Given the need for smaller gatherings to meet social distancing requirements, intimate and elaborate tablescapes became a thing in 2020. Couples took advantage of making their elopement style weddings a sitdown dinner affair with their family and friends. It was great to photograph beautiful table settings that planners, wedding designers, and florists put together. Creating these gorgeous tablescapes brought a sense of elegance to the simple affairs.

Outdoor Cooking At Weddings

Outdoor cooking at weddings has always been near and dear to my heart. There’s something about the smell of food cooking mingled with fresh outdoor breezes that makes my heart Ãœber happy. If you are getting married in the coming year and are looking for a way to host a people in a socially-distant and safe way, consider preparing your meals outside. Summer in Rhode Island means delicious seafood and lots of it. Clambakes and Lobster boils outside may make for some messy, but DELICIOUS eating. Yawgoo Bakes & Barbecues in Exeter RI is a great rustic wedding venue to consider for outdoor cooking.

Bottled or canned drinks

A recent trend in the past few years was offering signature custom cocktails. 2020 elevated the game by providing bottled versions of these drinks. It’s another way to make your wedding unique and memorable.

Bonus trends:

  • Design in technicolor: Booking at my work, it’s no surprise that I’m a Color-junkie. I love all things bright and vibrant. So the technicolor trend that swept the nation last year had me feeling ALL the feels! It was excellent, and I hope it continues for a long time to come.

  • Bring the destination to you - Florists can make MAGICAL things happen. I’m serious! Suppose life or your budget doesn’t allow you to make your destination dream a reality. In that case, partnering with your florist/floral designer may be your next best option.
