How To Have A Lovely Intimate Backyard Wedding

How to have a lovely intimate backyard wedding

Another successful backyard wedding photographed by this Rhode Island Wedding Photographer! I have to say even though typical wedding photography stalled this year, photographing these micro-weddings are truly becoming my jam! My couples are finding great ways to implement unique wedding ideas in their back yards and I’m enjoying photographing all of them.

I love the intimacy and sense of togetherness at each and everyone one of the weddings I’ve photographed so far. this couple hired me for just two hours to photograph their wedding. I took pictures of their ceremony, family portraits and built them an album as well, so they will always have memories of that first “I do”.

14 people (12 adults and 2 children) gathered with masks and by household to celebrate the love of their family members. Everyone who is important present, everyone else calling via zoom and FaceTime. Ceremony in the backyard under the arbor built by the groom, formal pictures at the local park just a stone’s throw from their home.

It doesn’t get any more intimate than this.

What do I recommend to couples for their wedding (especially if we’re still in a pandemic lock-down)?

  1. Make sure you invite the most important people in your life

  2. Use technology to increase the guest count

  3. Have plenty of masks and sanitizer on hand

  4. Decorate your backyard seasonal flowers

  5. Take time to enjoy the moment
